PIQUA - New Option, an agency provider of vocational work and day habilitation that operates under the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities guidelines, has expanded into a new location at 234 First St.
New Option provides work options, training programs and even leisure activities for individuals who need a little extra help. This program provides people with choices; it gives them New Options. When asked about their vision, Joshua Nulton partner/owner said "when a consumer considers a job and making money we want to be not only the first but also the best choice for them."
Tim Echemann of Industrial Property Brokers in Sidney negotiated the deal. "The facility was well suited for their operation," Echemanns said. "The space has 9,000 square feet of workable space and is nicely finished for quick occupancy. The building's configuration and amenities fit their operations quite well."
New Option was located primarily in Northwest Ohio, but they now have facilities in Wapakoneta, Indian Lake and the new site in Piqua.
"We just hired two additional staff members and will be seeking two more in the immediate future. We anticipate hiring a dozen more employees over the next year," Nulton said. "Out growth is based solely on word of mouth by the participants, families of the participants, and the residential staff they have. We hope to fully provide services throughout all of Miami County and possibly Montgomery County with the Piqua facility," Nulton said.
