Barmar Transport Acquires former Mac Tool facility in Washington Courthouse

Washington Courthouse, OH – Barmar Transport has signed a multi-year lease for the 161,000 SF former Mac Tool facility.  Barmar is owned by Barbara and Mark Beam.  Initial plans are for two businesses operated by Beams to occupy a portion of the building.    The company plans to expand its current pallet operations in this new facility as well as begin serving regional companies with third-party logistics services.  The balance of the space will be available for other businesses for warehousing and currently, several are considering the location.

Tim Echemann of Industrial Property Brokers represented both BarMar and the building’s owner Stuart Lichter in the transaction.   Lichter owns and controls in excess of 50 million square feet of real estate through Industrial Real Estate Group, LLC, a nationwide real estate developer.   

“BarMar was the perfect company to take occupancy of this facility,” commented Echemann.  “The building’s configuration and amenities fit their operations.  The additional space which includes 22 acres will provide rental income to BarMar as well. 

When asked about the deal, Mark Beam said, “The price was certainly favorable and the location fits our expanding operation.  We only needed to plan for a small amount of reconfiguration and the site is ready to occupy.  Tim Echemann handled all of the details efficiently and represented both ourselves and Mr. Lichter in a very professional manner.”

The company acquired the contract from Peco Pallet, Inc. to be their Ohio depot for repairing, storing and building pallets for this Yonkers, New York based company.   The company anticipates hiring 10 total employees at this facility.
