SCP, Inc. relocates to new facility in DeGraff, Ohio as business expands

DeGraff, OH – SCP, Inc., a wood products packaging company, recently relocated its business from Dayton, Ohio to the rural Logan County community of Degraff, Ohio in an effort to accommodate the company’s business growth.   The purchase of the company’s new 52,000 square foot facility was both a strategic and cost effective decision, noted SCP’s Ohio Operations general manager, Jason Arnold.  “We worked with Tim Echemann of Industrial Property Brokers (IPB) to help us locate a new facility that would meet our production needs and come within our budget.  Thanks to Echemann’s assistance, we were able to purchase our new building for a similar cost of renting the facility in Dayton.  So, we have improved our capacity while keeping our facility cost in line.”

SCP has been in business for twelve years and has grown form a small company with three part time employees to three locations today with 65 employees.  The company’s headquarters is in Hortonville, Wisconsin.    Primary products are skids, crates and pallets, hence the name SCP.  The company keeps all finished products and raw materials housed under roof to insure a dry product for its customers. Currently, SCP supplies customers in the greater Dayton area but sees the move to DeGraff as an opportunity to expand its market reach to a greater portion of Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

The company sees itself growing in the new location and adding additional employees. Initially, the company plans to bring on ten to twelve new hires with more to come as the company progresses. “The town has been very pleasant to deal with.  Residents have expressed to us how pleased they are that we have relocated to their community, bringing the potential for new jobs for the area,” commented Arnold.  SCP hopes to be operational at the new facility May 1.
