Logan County recycling relocating facility, plans to expand operation

BELLEFONTAINE - The Board of Logan County Commissioners, Logan County Solid Waste Management District, has purchased the former Stock Lumber facility at 1100 S. Detroit St.

Their intent is to relocate the district's office in this facility and build a material processing facility so they will be able for the first time to process and market the recycled materials collected throughout the county. The nearly 27,000-square-foot building included an additional 14,000-square-foot storage building on 4.5 acres with a secured fenced-yard storage area as well.

Industrial Property Brokers of Sidney coordinated the transfer that will enable the district to fully capture a tremendous volume of recyclable materials that now go to the landfill, IPB officials said.

"The site is more centrally located in the county and ideally configured to meet the center's expanding requirements," Tim Echemann, IPB president, said. "Renovation and remodeling of the site will be ongoing to meet their current and future operational needs."
